Gender Politics Research Group Book Panel – reflections on writing as a feminist practice
Venue
SPS Chrystal Macmillan Practice Suite 1.12Description
Several members of our GPRG community have recently published books in PIR, including edited volumes, and we want to come together to celebrate their achievements. Rather than a traditional book launch, our gender politics panellists will discuss the feminist process of writing and editing, focusing in particular on the joy, love, pitfalls, and challenges. Since many of these books were co-authored, the panellists will also share their experiences with collaboration and explore the ethical and practical dimensions of feminist co-authorship.
Our panellists:
Prof Meryl Kenny, Gendering Party Politics: Feminist Institutionalist Perspectives (forthcoming, 2025) [co-edited with Elin Bjarnegård], OUP
Dr Hemangini Gupta, Experimental Times: Startup Capitalism and Feminist Futures in India (2024), University of California Press
Prof Sarah Childs, Designing and Building Feminist Institutions (forthcoming, 2025), OUP
Dr Annika Bergman Rosamond, The Politics of Feminist Foreign Policy and Digital Diplomacy (2024) [co-authored with Karin Aggestam and Elsa Hedling], Palgrave Macmillan – Open Access
Introductions: Prof Ben Rosamond
Chair: Prof Fiona Mackay (PIR)
Location: SPS Chrystal Macmillan Practice Suite 1.12
