Description

An object's narrative never ends is a reflective presentation on the ethnographic work of Beth Cloughton, who received her PhD at the end of 2024. At this FRIED event, Beth will discuss her methodological approach to community-based food-focussed research and the ways that fieldwork and theory coalesce. Alongside methods, Beth will share central learnings, particularly around experiences of temporality for people and places experiencing food insecurity, and the manifestation of experimentation.

Bio

Dr Beth Cloughton is a Grassroots and Community Research Fellow at the Living Good Food Nation Lab, coordinated at the University of Edinburgh. Beth is also one half of art duo, MalekianCloughton, which uses urban recording methods to (re)present encounters of, and with, sustainability.
