Description

Companionship and family planning among young people in Finland, Portugal, and Scotland.

What might the future look like in terms of how family and intimate lives are composed? How do global crises, such as climate change, affect family formation? NETREP is a 4-year, qualitative study exploring this question in Finland, Portugal and Scotland. Funded by the Krone Foundation, the team is working across socioeconomic and cultural contexts to examine both change and continuities in how people understand and plan for future intimacies and family life.

Data collection in Scotland is ongoing. In this presentation, we take the opportunity to share the project aims and objectives of the project. We will discuss our methodological approach, as well as the challenges experienced during fieldwork. Initial findings will be presented, alongside plans for future research activities.
