Dr Maggie Dwyer has received a British Academy Innovation Fellowship to research the role of technology in shaping citizen-state relations in Africa.
The Innovation Fellowships scheme provides funding and support for researchers in the humanities and social sciences to partner with organisations and businesses in the creative, cultural, public, private and policy sectors, to address challenges that require innovative approaches and solutions.
Through this fellowship, Maggie - a Senior Lecturer in African Studies and International Development - will spend 12 months working with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), focused on the effects of technology on African citizen-state relations.
Maggie is based in the University of Edinburgh's Centre of African Studies.
