Social Anthropology Palestine Teaching Resources

Content

The Social Anthropology subject area at the School of Social and Political Science (SPS) has collated a selection of teaching and educational resources on Palestine, offering critical discourse, challenging mainstream narratives and advocating for justice.

These resources are aimed at students and educators, and available for all to use.

  • Decolonize Palestine provides a wealth of critical discourse, myth-busting tools, activism and education surrounding the Palestinian struggle for liberation.

  • Visualizing Palestine provides impactful infographics and narratives to illuminate complex issues surrounding displacement, occupation and resistance, aiding educators and students in deepening their understanding and sparking discussions. The website was established in 2012 and is dedicated to using data and research to visually communicate Palestinian experiences, to provoke narrative change.

  • Zinn Education Project's Teaching About the Violence in Israel and Gaza offers a valuable collection of teaching tools, links to articles and books, and other resources for educators to address the occupation in Palestine.

  • Jadaliyya's Palestine Section has insightful articles and analyses to broaden understanding and engage with diverse perspectives on Palestine, promoting critical thinking and dialogue in the classroom and beyond. Jadaliyya's editorial team has prepared these articles, podcasts, live event recordings and more as part of the Arab Studies Institute's (ASI) Middle East Learn & Teach (MELT) series. This collection contains resources that offer starting points for those looking to place the current situation in historical and political context.

  • Insaniyyat's Voices from Gaza is an insightful blog series from the Society of Palestinian Anthropologists.
