Guidance on recommended student technology

The necessary move to hybrid teaching, where you’ll receive your teaching via on-campus and digital learning, will likely mean you have some questions regarding the type of technology you might need to ensure you get the best possible teaching experience, wherever you are in the world.

Read the guidance from our information services team to help you plan.

Welcome events (PGR)

We strongly recommend all our students participate in the welcome events organised by the School and the University.

SPS Postgraduate Research Welcome Hub.

Each postgraduate research Postgraduate Advisor (PGA) will provide a live or recorded welcome event which you can access in your Learn site. This is accessed through MyEd, in the SPS Postgraduate Research Welcome Hub.

Please find details in the Hub subpage, Subject Area/Centre Pages. We ask you to revisit this area prior to your arrival to check for welcome meeting updates.

The PGR Welcome Hub will include links to other valuable information, pre-recorded presentations and videos to help you transition into the new academic environment and familiarise yourselves with our School. We very much recommend that you explore the resources there.

You can also download the UoE Events App, and view the New Students website for full access to University-wide events and resources.
