Research

My PhD involves examines Twitch streaming, analysing the ways in which women and non-binary streamers interact with their 'chat' or audience. I will discuss how communities and friendships are built on the platform and how boundaries are implemented. This research takes a feminist approach to understanding how gender impacts relationships on Twitch as well as the gendered expectations placed upon and internalised by streamers.
