My current ESRC-funded doctoral research examines the relationship between migrant domestic workers (MDWs) and the adults who were cared for by MDWs in childhood in Singapore. It asks how Singaporean adults remember, narrate, and make sense of these relationships, and how being cared for by a MDW shapes understandings of inequalities. It further considers what might be inherited and imagined from these relationships, and how they are (re)negotiated across time and space.
I am interested in multimodal ethnographic and creative arts-based methods.
