Background

Zeineb Alsabeehg is a PhD candidate at the School of Social and Political Science (SPS) at the University of Edinburgh. In 2023, she worked as a research intern at the Scottish Government.

Alsabeehg has tutored at SPS and guest lectured in the Edinburgh Law School. She has also worked as a research assistant in the Edinburgh Law School as well as in SPS. Moreover, Alsabeehg has experience as a consultant for the International Labour Organization (ILO) on a study on forcibly displaced persons and the digital economy in the Middle East. She is a country expert for the Global Citizenship Observatory (GLOBALCIT) and has authored a number of country reports on citizenship laws for GLOBALCIT.

Alsabeehg is currently a visiting fellow at the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness at the Melbourne Law School. While pursuing her PhD, she has also spent one semester at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy, in 2022.
