What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh?
I was looking for a place where I could study about renewable energy and climate change. I chose the University of Edinburgh because wind power generation is widespread in Scotland, and many professors are researching this field. Since research in this field is not yet advanced in my home country, the University of Edinburgh was perfect for me.
How have you enjoyed your programme?
I really enjoyed the programme. Particularly memorable was a class that held a mock United Nations International Climate Change Conference (COP). As representatives of specific countries and organizations, we each engaged in discussions and consensus-building.

What are your highlights from your time at the School of Social and Political Science?
I enjoyed the end-of-year postgraduate reception party. The event was held in a hall at the National Museum of Scotland, and we were able to chat with friends and look back on the year.
How have you enjoyed living in Edinburgh?
Surrounded by beautiful buildings and nature, I could stay physically and mentally healthy. Also, the days are long, from spring to summer, and the weather is pleasant, so you can go out and have fun with friends until late into the night.
Aims for after University?
I want to work to expand offshore wind power generation in Japan.
If you recommend ONE thing to do in the first semester what would it be?
Go up to Calton Hill and check how beautiful the city is!!
